While traditionally this may be a boy name, in this day and age of "cross-naming", we looked at our baby and immediately saw her as a "Ryland." Middle name is Rose.

My dad is Ryland III. But he goes by Doc. My grandfather went by Ry, and my great-grandfather went by the Colonel. So if we have a boy we're thinking about using it. I love the name and I think it would be a pretty girl's name too.

I loved the name but used it for my son, had he been a girl it would have been Rilynn which sounds more girly to me but todays trend is to give girls boy names.
