I didn't like my name at first, but now, I love it! All my friends call me Shanny, Shan, Shanna, or Shanny Girl. My full name is Shannon Lane and I've only met one other, and she was blond and had blue eyes. I would definitely think this is a great name, and would recommend it to anyone with a baby girl or boy on the way!

Shannon really is just a fantastic name and what's funny is that it describes me to a tee. I had to look it up for a school project ages ago and ever since then I have just really loved it. Your whole name really can get very long quite fast though, althought I wouldn't change it for anything. I agree with other comments that it can sometimes be difficult to fit on documents. :) P.S. Maybe that's because my whole name is Shannon Elizabeth Finnegan (Go Irish!).

My name is Shannon Lee I love its meaning, I am only 5 feet tall and its fits my personality well. Mine is Shanan Kae and when filling out any kind of paperwork I always do it in caps because I get Sharon ALL the time. I'm usually called Shan or Sha *long a*
can't stand Shani cuz got called Shani-fanny or Shanan cannon it goes on. But my mother decided to be creative and spell it this way. I have yet to see anyone spelled this way.

Go figure, Shannon Sunshine and I'm hispanic! Kinda weird huh?? I never really liked my name until I reached my 20's..Yes, my mom was a hippie and my middle name Sunshine was her choice at that time. It's sort of a tongue twister..Shannon Sunshine sells sea shells at the sea shore, whew that was tough! :) Now I love my name, small wise one with some "Sunshine" happiness blended in!

My best friend's name is Shannon and I absolutely love her. She is so sweet and is great when it comes to advice during rough parts of time (I'm guessing that's where the wise owl comes in? :p) That Shannon is a girl, and so I'm used to it being a girl name... I have met one Shannon in my life that's a guy. He was nice and sweet. But I still picture the name as a girl name...

My name is Shannon Michelle, my husband's name is Shaunnon Quinn. Yes really, Confusion reigns supreme in our house. My Husband's mom wanted to name him Shaun and she added the -non because she wanted to continue the "theme" from their older son Kennon.
My husband's middle name is the masculine form of his mom's nick name. (Mom's name is Quinith, her nickname is Quin, Quinith is pronounced like Gweneth but the G is soft and kind of like the Q, just not a hard Q.) My husband's middle name is pronounced EXACTLY like it appears Q-WIN.
