I used to hate my name when I was younger. No one else had it, and I couldn't find anything at the store with my name on it. Now I love it. I have met a few other Shaunas in my life but only a handful of people that have it spelled like mine. It's good to be unique! Funny story...my mom named me Shauna Michelle because if I was born a boy, it was easy enough to change it to Shaun Michael.

When my daughter was born, my husband was in Viet Nam. In fact, he didn't see her until she was almost 4 months old. We wrote back and forth about the baby's name. When I suggested Shonna, he wouldn't budge from that name! He loved the spelling of it, since it was different from the more common spellings. She is always getting complimented on her name and people tell her they haven't seen it spelled this way before. She is a beautiful girl with a beautiful name.

I don't see how any of you can LIKE the name Shauna, because it's a guys' name with an a at the end of it. It's disgusting and makes me feel man-ish. Ugh.
