My husband and I adore the name Isabella. If we have a daughter, her name will be Isabella Elaine (Elaine after her great grandma)and we will call her Bella for short (and anyone calling her "Izzy" will get punched by mommy...no offense to anyone with this nickname but I hate it...Bella - or Belle - means beautiful and that is what my "Bella" will be!

I love this name because well its my name and i don't know too many people with it. Its perfect for a little girl or a grandmother. It's one of those very flexible names. And it is very hard to make fun of. Until very recently people have had to stretch their brains to find a way to make fun of my name. A friend came up with Isabelly dancer. yes i know. not funny, but everyone else seems to think so.

Our daughter is almost 3 years old. We chose the name Isabella Jocelyn because my husband is half Italian and of course we love the name. We also call her Bella (beautiful) and the name definately sits since she is one of the most gorgeous children I have ever seen. Thats not just proud mommy speaking but comments from others also. She also has a sweet and wonderful spirit. I love unusual names because it helps to have a name to help you stand out in the crowd. My older daughters name is Jillian Delight.
