I've read interviews with Masashi Kishimoto (the creator of naruto), he said that it means: fish paste. It's the Star looking thing in Ramen with the pink squigle.
(and If i were to name my boy afrer an anime character, it would be Goku!)

One of my friends thought Naruto meant ramen. And I thought it was something to do with power..... So I guess I was right....

I wish I could meet a real Naruto,
I would love to have that name, even if the others pick on me,
I think Masashi Kishimoto Namedd him Naruto because of his rasengan,
( Doesn't it look like a whirlpool of chakra )
Naruto- Strong whirlpool
Rasengan- Strong whirlpool of Chakra!
