I love the manga and the name was alway a name that made me think of a powerful and determinded person who would stand up against people who tried to put down others.

I've read interviews with Masashi Kishimoto (the creator of naruto), he said that it means: fish paste. It's the Star looking thing in Ramen with the pink squigle.
(and If i were to name my boy afrer an anime character, it would be Goku!)

i didn't think they would have naruto..... i searched up every other main character and only found naruto and gaara....but since me and my boyfriend love the anime, my friend suggested naming our kids (if it ever happens, very unlikely) naruto and sasuke!
