I'm Navajo and I think that this name is pretty cool. Maybe when I get a boy, Shilah will be his name.

But my name is Shilah and I think it's a wonderful name. My mom thought she made it up in 1968 but clearly that's not the case as there are other "Shilah's" out there and I've even met a couple. Most that I've come across though are women. I think the name could go either way. I've also heard that the name (although with a different spelling) is a common Persian name meaning "peaceful". I kind of like that sentiment as well.

I'm a mother of two boys, and am pregnant with my first girl. My boys have commons names. So I was trying to think up a unique name for my girl and believe that Shilah is a beautiful name for a boy or a girl.

My daughter is named Shyla. I have received a lot of comments on how "pretty" her name is. I think it could be used on a boy but I prefer it on a girl obviously lol. I do like Shia for a boy though. I dont care for the Shilah spelling much because I think people would confuse it for Sheila.
