My name is Kenzie, as well, and I am a Celtic historian. I have known many other male and female Kenzies over my life time, and I fell like I need to clear up some details about the name origins of Kenzie.
Kenzie is the short form of MacKenzie (meaning son of Kenzie) which is derived from the Gaelic name Mac Coinneach. The name ?Coinneach? means handsome or fair one. Kenzie is in its origins a purely male name. Although in the 1950s and onwards, baby girls have been increasingly named Kenzie thanks in fact to an actress named MacKenzie in that era.
Sorry to disappoint all the female Kenzies out there. It is far from the end of the world though, the most beautiful and interesting woman I've have ever known was named Alex. Remember a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.
