I'm 24 and my parents gave me this name im very proud of it as its so unusual and ive never met anyone with the same name. Everyone i meet comments on what a pretty and unusual name it is i like to be different.

I have the same name but I'm actually getting sick of people saying "doesn't that mean beautiful?" Sometimes I wanna change it but whatever! It's been 17 years and I can't wait to meet someone with my same name!

Bonita is a unique name,I used to hate it as a child but once I grew into it, I became proud of it. I met only 1 other person with that same exact name. It sounds a little funny to me still, but I LOVE its uniqueness. Thanx to a Tribe Called Quest's song "Bonita Applebaum"....lol

I love my name now that I'm older, but I didn't like it when I was younger because it was so unusual and no one could pronounce it correctly. So I went by my nickname, Bonnie, which means pretty in Scottish. Then in my late twenties, I came to appreciate the uniqueness and meaning of Bonita, so I've been using it ever since and now I'm 47. I always get compliments on it too. : )

hehe and agreed to my fellow Bonitas!! Everyone always tried to recall the Spainsh inerpretation of my name "Doesn't that mean pretty?" Although I am fluent, I always told them to accept it as my name. I love that my name is unique. I have only met one other Bonita, a fellow nurse, that also went by Bonnie. I have moved up and down the East coast, yet she was the only one that spelt my name the same (there were plenty of "Benita's)
I used to hate that none of the other kids could spell my name, so I went by Bonnie. (which they usually spelled Boney) Moving the DC at 13 I finally embraced my named and realized how much I loved it. People remembered me and my name. Even if I was mentioned, people remembered my name being mentioned.
I am one of a kind, just like my name!! Please don't name those babies John, Ann, Jason, Amber or the rest!!! Give them a chance to be themselves!!
