I have never come across a boy name Taryn spelled like I spell it. I have ALWAYS gotten compliments on my name, and everyone always remembered me because of it. I loved having a different name, so I came up with a different name to give my daughter too.

I have met or known 7 or 8 Taryns and they are all female, like me! I think the y makes it sort of girly. I've seen only one boy and he spelled it Tarran. Also, I've heard it's been derived from Tara and Erin, as well as being related to Karen...sooo, hmmm....

I named my little girl this name. I have never heard of a boy named Taryn either. I found that the name meant "rolling hill". But if the name means "Thunder" it suits her. She is energenic and strong willed. : )

I am currently pregnant with a son and have spent several months "discusing" baby names with my husband and we both have decided on the name Taryn for our baby. Neither one of us have known any in our time so hopefully nobody will think of it as to girly for him.

My son Taryn is now 15. All his life he has been the only Taryn that is a boy.... have only ever come across one other Taryn(girl). He has often been called Taz. Taryn is not a girls name but unisex. I have seen it meaning "Thunder" I have also seen it meaning "Fire" neither meaning would be considered girlie.
Give your baby an unusual name it makes life interesting!!
