***guest*** OMG I never heard of any of this, I am sooo intrigued !!

Culture shock!!! LOL
I don't have kids, still studying at Uni. (College?) but
my best friend is going to have a boy in October.
I'm part-English/mostly-Irish and we don't have ANY kind of
this involved "shower" (that's one word we stole from you)
Yours seems a helluva lot of work involved!!
"Dirty Diaper"? We call 'm "nappies" and we have a much
more "low-profile" event IF there is even an event, and only
for the FIRST baby of a couple. I've been to one. Ages ago.
I do remember poems and stuff, gifts and guessing,
and one mum-to-be sucking a "dummy" (pacifier)
I think she had a nappy on ... LOL ....

Also older males call babies "snappers" ... maybe from the
Aussie "ankle-biters" lol
iluvandy I went to my cousins baby shower not to long ago and they had a really neat little game. What you do is give evryone that comes a pin to put on their shirt. (something related to baby). And tell them that whoever says anything such as "baby, diaper, or bottle" take their pin away. And the one who has the most pins collected at the end wins the prize. I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say because it is difficult on the computer. There was also another one where you have 3 volunteers to come up in front of everyone, and you have 3 baby bottles all filled at the exact measurement, it could be milk, water, just anything to drink. Then on the count of three have them race to see who drinks the most in one minute. I thought these games were very fun to watch and very creative!
kels one game that we did at my sister's shower was, when everyone came in they got a little baby clothes pin. They pinned it on their shirt. And they were'nt aloud to say "cute" and if they did then whoever heard them got their pin. Then at the end whoever had the most won. I hope this helps.

T At my sister-in-law's baby shower we had games like baby Bingo, unscramble the words. We also played a game where the guests had to drop baby pins or clothes pins into a jar and whoever got the most won a prize. We also had a baby bottle filled with M&M's and the guests had to guess how many M&M's were in the jar. We also surprised the guests with a game about the mother. The mother had to leave the room and the guests had to answer questions about her like was she wearing earrings, etc. We had the dirty diaper game too.
Mom_of2 I got it Thank You Everyone We have decided to do a guess that baby song game.
