Okay so the hubby and I were talking yesterday, and something triggered a conversation about a baby name that I liked.

We talked for a few minutes and ended up talking about the name Virgil. Hubby LOVES that name. I absolutely HATE it. And I feel like I'm being too domineering with the baby names. I've liked a few of his suggestions, but I put my foot down over Virgil, because I just can't stand the name.

What do you guys think? Is the name really that bad or is it just me? I want to compromise and maybe use it as a MN but I just can't get past the vision I have of the poor child with that name. LOL. Am I crazy?

For any of you guys who do like the name Virgil ... what would be a good first name for it?

I'm loving the name Lucian right now, but I don't know if it sounds right... Lucian Virgil ... WDYT?

Well I'm not exactly fond of the name Virgil...but maybe that's because that's my neighbor's name and he's a rude and stingy old man lol

Oooh, do not like Virgil at all. Poor guy will be teased in school. Wait until they get to sex ed. and kids start calling him Virgil the Virgin. I would tell your husband no way. Maybe as a middle name if you have to comprise.

THANK YOU!! Both of you... LOL. That's exactly what I see when I think of the name ... a little kid being called virgin and a cranky old man who is mad about being teased his whole life. LOL. He swears it's the coolest name ever, but I have no idea why. I HATE it. I just don't think I could do that to my own child. But am I being too controlling with the name?? I mean, I want him to have input as well, but I don't want anything too common or something that will traumatize our children. LOL

I agree with Superc12, he will be called virgin. Um I think middle name would be okay so that it's a compromise..idn.
