My daughters name is Amaiyah Dawn. It took uptothe 9th month for us to decide. The thing is hardly anyone likes the name and some feel that the spelling is too difficult and will give her problems. I know that all is said and done and we love and have no intentions on changing it but I just wondered what others thought of the name?

i don't really see the difficulty in the name.. i think it's REALLY pretty!!!! keep the name, people will find it ever so perfect after a while

i think its nice its not that weird ive seen worse she might have trouble learning to spell it but so did i took me longer than most to learnt to spell my name cos its long and isnt spelt like you say it lol so dont worry to much

Actually, the more difficult a child's name is ... the better it is for them. Longer names help them learn their alphabet sooner as that the first thing they learn to spell and apply meaning to is their own name. Though, you shouldn't overdo it.

The name you chose doesn't seem difficult at all. Most of the names on my list are semi-long but not where it would overwhelm the child. And if you do find the the child is having too much trouble with it ... and shortened nickname is always a helpful tool.

But I'd say you're just on your way to having a smart kid lol.

It's pronounced Uh-my-uh right?? Well I think it is beautiful and easy to pronounce (if I pronounced it right). As soon as I saw it I knew how to say it (again if I actually am pronouncing it right) and people shouldn't have trouble pronouncing it
