I would feel a little weird doing that. You're not the only one. Although it's their choice but I also think it has to mean something to both of them. I know it's a tragic thing that happened, but it's not like naming it after a grand parent who's died or anything. If she's willing to go along w/it then I guess it's ok.

I def wouldn't do that, maybe a middle name.

No, it's not just you. Deffinately a middle name! Not a first name. I had twin girls almost a year ago, Mia and Ava, and we lost Ava to SIDS when she was just 2 1/2 months old. I recently just found out I'm pregnant again and if it's a girl her middle name will be Ava. We're considering Madison Ava. Using the babys name as a middle name I feel is a good way to remember someone but give the baby it's own first name. That's just my opinion. Goodluck and tell them I'm sorry for there loss. I know how they feel. Hope I could help!

Thank you all for your replies. I really do appreciate you posting as i tend to doubt & second-guess myself most of the time.

To update those of you who have taken an interest, i've spoken to daughters b/f today & it seems he hasn't seen his uncle for years, as (from what i can gather) after his baby died the uncle had some mental health problems & then went off to travel the world... & he doesn't know where he is, right now... Oh, i dunno... i just feel for the uncle...
