Um, Hi? By MomOfMikahleanAndAkaisha. 2 Years, 3 Months Ago Hey all. My name is Alicia, but most call me Lisha
I'm eighteen years old. I have a daughter, born 12-12-08. Her name is Mikahlean Rayann. She is my worldd. I <3 her to death. I'm not with her father, but we're the best of friends. I'm hoping for a boy this time, either way I'm happyy. Just a little to get to know me, so you don't judge, and do not make assumptions without knowing who I really am. -I graduated May 2009. -My family means a LOT to me, even though they are unhappy with me right now.. -I work full time, and go to a local community college full time as well. -I take care of my daughter myself. I live in an apartment on my own, with my baby girl. -I pay my own rent, utilities, car payments, credit card bills, doctor bills, insurance, phone bills, etc. I'm independent. Always have been. I'm very responsible. -I'm really honest. -It doesn't take much to piss me off >.< Even when I'm NOT pregnant. -I'm friendly to everyone unless you give me a reason not to be. -I've had a rough past. -I like to go out, dancing and clubbin' with my friends, but my child, and soon to be children come first, making it hard to do things. But that's okay Basically. I'm an eighteen year old mom of one, soon to be two. Living on my own, being a responsible adult/mother and the best that I can be going to college, and working full time to make something of myselff. I've come to this site to make some friends, and get advice if I need it.. I would normally turn to my family, but they won't talk to me right now.. because for one, they're still upset at me for gtetting pregnant the first time, two they think I can't make it on my own and that I'm pretty much going to fail at life and not be successfull (BUT I'LL SHOW THEM! I would ask my friends, but they're not really in the same boat as me anymore.. we're kinda slowly drifting apart from each other.. i mean all my friends are becoming less close to me I know I've made some HUGE life changing decisions, but I did it for me and my daughter. I did NOT get pregnant for me and my daughter, because thats not gonna benefit us that much, it was a "surprise" but it happened, and I can't change it now. So I'm going to try and make the best of it. Thanks for reading

Re:Um, Hi? By vburgfirewife 2 Years, 3 Months Ago Sounds like you may have made some poor choices in the past but are taking what came with those decisions and are making the best of it. Kudos for your commitment to furthering your education to make you and your children's lives better. There are many out there that won't even do that much when they don't have kids. I applaud you for your determination!
Hopefully your family will come around in time. Sometimes families take it hard when you don't do what THEY think you should do. Sad to say, and not right, but very true. Yes, I can see where you and your friends are probably drifting apart. Your priorities are changing and there is less common ground. I would suggest maybe finding a local mom's group to join. Maybe see if your local library or daycare centers could direct you to a good group. You may find some great friends with children your kids' ages. Congrats on the new little one on the way. By the way, my name is Christa. I have 2 beautiful girls that are 11 1/2 & 9 so I have been through most of the infant & toddler phases and am now into the preteen phases, YIKES!!! I don't get on here much, but try to visit periodically and give helpful advice where I can. Glad to meet you and I wish you the best of luck. Keep your chin up, you can do whatever you set your mind to!

Re:Um, Hi? By Bexie_08 2 Years, 3 Months Ago Wow! You couldn't be any more perfect if you had read all the teenage mom arguments on here and put them all together in one person. Welcome to the board, and thanks for not coming on and saying "I'm a teen mom and everything is perfect and you should try it too!"

Re:Um, Hi? By Alisamber 2 Years, 3 Months Ago Wow, you're busy. I wish you all the best. Just remember these little ones will crave your attention and love them with all you've got. Time and energy may seem to be in short supply. Take it one day at a time, like you said, doing your best. Hang in there! What are you thinking for names?

Re:Um, Hi? By MomOfMikahleanAndAkaisha. 2 Years, 3 Months Ago Thank you everyone for welcoming me.
& Laura, I've only been thinking of boys names, cause that's what I'm hoping for. But I'll be happy w/ either, yanno. My favorite boys names are: Brady, Bentley, Liam, Jake, Rowan, Talan, Aaden, Carter, Mason, Nolyn, Holden, Zeke, Zander... I know there's more, I'm just drawing a blank right now. I like creative names, some popular names like Aaden as you can see. I'm up for different spellings to make it more unique in a way. Mikahlean Rayann is my daughters name, I don't know what would sound good with her name?!
