Whats your opinion on people going by both their first and middle name? For example (I know people with these names so thats why Im using them... no special reason) Ann Marie or Mary Katherine (or Mary Kate if you shorten it)
So what do you think of people going by both their first and middle name?

Um if you wanna know why I'm asking its because I like the name Leia and I kinda like the name Belle for the middle name but I really like them together almost as one name. There are other middle names I like with the name Leia but this one I really like saying as if theyre combined! So what do you think of the name Leia Belle for a little girl? Do you not like them together (as combined or seperate first and middle names) or not like the idea of a person going by their first and middle name?

Any comments or opinions are welcome!

I have no problem at all with using the first and middle names together. One of my choices was Tara Beth, and I would have used them togeher/ I have known several Mary lee's, Mary Jane's, Mary Ann etc.

Your name choice is pretty and if you like it, use it.

It;s good that both names are short, coz saying two names together can sometimes seem like it's too long, but Leia Belle is really nice and easy to say

I think it would be really cool if more people went by both names! I've always wondered why sooooooo many people are only called one name if they're given two! Why not just give the child the one name you're going to call him? Of course, I have done what most everyone else does and I call my kids by their first names for the most part. And I find I abbreviate their names a lot. So (I didn't know how I would be about this til after kids) I tend to be a one-syllable nickname kind of gal when it comes to calling my kids. But that's mostly in the rush of the day. When we're just chilling and have time to goof around and sing and play, I'll often use their full names.

Now, this may be interesting to you. Growing up, I went (and still do) go by my middle name. When I went to college, though, I decided to do my own little social experiment. (Hee hee! ). This was a two year program and no one knew me from Adam. So, I introduced myself as _____ ______. A few people called me the name I gave them, _____ ______. But a lot of people, teachers and students, called me by my first name only. For a long time. It was into the second year and people were still not addressing me correctly as I had introduced myself. So, like I mentioned in another post before, people are just generally lazy. And that's not always a bad thing, it's just how it is. We take the path of least resistance. We say about as short a name as we can get by with a lot of times. So, just be prepared to hear people call her Leia only until they really get to know you all and hear you always say Leia Belle.

The only other thing I thought of was: when I had told a friend years ago we were thinking of Leia as a name, she blurted out that it sounded like something like "I wanna lay ya". So I don't know if a lot of people would think that or not. We still loved the name a lot and it stayed at the top of our list. We had all boys, though. And I like Leia Belle, but like you said, it does sound very girly especially with Belle on it, so I don't know how well it would age with her.

I would never go by my first name and middle name could you imagine what a mouthful that would be, Shawna-Leigh Anne it does kind of sound like leanne but that's why i don't use it.

I think Leia and Belle would be a beautiful name put together
