naming style?
By Celianne 1 Year, 11 Months Ago
What is everybody's naming style? Like what kinds of names do you like, do you put a lot of thought in it (You probably do if you're on here, haha)?

I like names that can be shortened but also work fine on their own. More classic-sounding, but also less common. Not weird, or modern. I don't particularly like following trends. I'm not huge on spelling changes, but I would do it if I liked it. (i.e., I don't like Katie, but I think Kaite is really neat, even if it does look like a typo.)

Like:
Summer Anne
Torrin Maxwell

I guess I don't really have a specific naming style, I like a lot of different kinds of names. I don't like bizarre unique names, but for girls I like more uncommon pretty names like Aurora, but I also like unisex names for boys and girls. I love Shayne for a girl and Jaime for a boy, but that's really about it for unisex, except I love Rylie and Avery for girls, and don't even think they are boys names. Sometimes I like changing spellings, usually with Y's, for some reason I just like adding Y's or switching y's and I's like in Rylie (Riley) Mckynlie (Mckinley). I don't really care if a name is trendy or anything if I like it, I like it. I would never choose names like Ashley, Katie, Michael, Dylan, because they are really over used, but really I just don't like them period, even if they weren't common. For boys I do kind of like some of the more names people are picking now like Liam, and I love Lucas.

Here are the different kinds of names I like:

Girls:
Aurora- pretty; uncommon
Avery Rayne- Considered unisex/ and unique
Emma- Old fashioned, but becoming trendy again.
Kenadie
Leighton- More modern
Mckynlie
Sienna
Savannah

Boys:
Jayme Rylan
Lucas James
Liam Wyatt
Landon

For me, I go for names that sound and looks good(at least to me), and hopefully have a good meaning as much as possible. I'm trying to keep to a certain "trend" that for girls, the first name can be something I like, and the middle name must be a little Christian or biblical related. It is the opposite for boys. Since I'm from Asia, some names which are "common" might not really be on our side. (I know of people who has never heard of the name Leah, and are like.. how do you pronounce it? ) but yeah, here are the names I have on my list.

Girls:

Alexa Hope
Makynlie Rae
Amberleigh Eden
Presleigh Arianna

boys:

Andrew Leon Jae
Abel Riley
Josiah Wade
Elliot Dane
Riley Oliver

I like unique or classy names that aren't very popular. I think many popular girl names just sound like boy names so I guess I'm the odd one out. Ex. Riley, Avery, Teagan, Lakin, Presley, Bailey, etc.

Girls:
Anne Elizabeth Marie
Emikka Rose
Zita Juliette

Boy:
Lathan James
Neo Jaxon
Maximillian Hale
