can't settle on a name (1 viewing) (1) Guest
can't settle on a name By silversky32 7 Months, 2 Weeks Ago I am getting super frustrated about finding a name for the baby girl I am expecting. I am not overly in love with any one name, but I like quite a few. It just doesn't seem like any of them are just right. My older kids were easy, I had their names narrowed down to 1 or 2 by the time I delivered them. My husband is not making things any easier because he really won't help out much. He waits for me to find names I like and then pretty much just shoots them down. He won't come up with any on his own, and he is hooked on about 3 I mentioned but wasn't sure about. Now he says one of those is fine and he won't listen to any other ones. Plus I like very different names and when I mention them to other people they tend to look at me weird or throw their own opinions in. If one more person suggests Ashley or Megan I'm going to pull my hair out. Those are pretty names but not my style. My children are Garrett Daniel, Taryn Suzanne( pronounced like Karen but with a T instead) and Kyndel Alicia(Kendall just spelled different). I would love a name that sort of goes with these. Any help would be much appreciated!

Re:can't settle on a name By silversky32 7 Months, 2 Weeks Ago I actually really like Marley but my niece is named Carley and it just seemed to close. I also love Lily, Brooklyn, Sienna, Sophia, and Summer. But those names have all recently been used by friends and family. Part of the problem is that I am a teacher and I'm exposed to all of the names that are super common or even really unique and then associate the name with the student. It becomes difficult to see it on my own child when I've seen 12 Madisons at school this week

Re:can't settle on a name By happy2bme 7 Months, 2 Weeks Ago I know exactly what you mean about teaching school and trying to find a name. I am in the same boat, only with boys' names. I think of a few that I like, but I'm not overly crazy about any one of them, they're just okay. The only one that I was crazy about, my friend and her husband are using it in 3 more months for their son. So yes, it can be very frustrating trying to pick a name, and especially when you teach school, have a large family, and know lots of people from church and your community. And if I have really liked a name from years ago, it's been used already, like you said. Have you looked in a baby name book for any ideas? What about Cheyenne (pronounced Shy-anne). Or Kira,(pronounced Keer-a). I think Kaiya is a pretty name. My friend's little girl is named Alanah, and I've always liked that. I like Marley, too. I hope this helps.
