Here are my thoughts: Any name is special, so name her whatever you want! It might be a problem when she gets into grade school (which happened to my sister Cory), but you and her could probably sort it out. If you don't want it to sound as masculine, maybe try Mickey or maybe Mika (procounced MY-KAH). Or, like someone said before, spell it differently. You could also name her "Michaella." (pronounced MY-KELL-UH)
Michael would be a very unique name. She might like the name, or she might hate it. This can sometimes become a problem. It might lead her to pretend her name is something else, and then she will become a different person. She'll become confused and her feelings will really become messed up. (I know from experience. When I was in fourth grade, everyone teased be about my name. Then I tried to change my name to Lily, but in the process changed into a whole new person. I started becoming alot more of a snob, and nobody wanted to hang around me.) But if she's a strong girl who doesn't take other's opinions personally, she won't do that. But it will really depend.
If you are really into naming her Michael, talk to her about her name and how special it is. Help her to understand why you named her Michael and that you named her after someone very important in your life. Make sure she knows that you didn't name her Michael just to torture her.

I hope this helped!!

I guess I am a bit strange I like the name Michael..yea it is normally a male name but so what I know females with the name eg that actress Michael Michelle. In the Bible David's daughter name was Michal which is essentially pronounced the same way. I do suggest that you can probably pair it with a more feminine name.
Good luck

I think it is a little masculine and she might get teased at school, or confused with being a boy etc (i had that problem at school, my name is baylee)
maybe if you use michael as a middle name. you can always call her michael all the time, but if she has a different first name that is a little more feminine, it may make it easier during her schooling years.
my nana's name is patricia on paper, but she goes by her middle name of doreen in real life.

just a thought

I like it! Saul's daughter was Michal in the bible with is pronounced like Michael and I know a girl named Maaike (pronounced like Micah) so go for it and call her Mickey, Elle, Miki, etc... or just leave it Michael
my friend wants to name her girl Michael if she ever has one and I think it is cute
