If you are going to "roll the 'r'" in the Italian way steer clear of an 'r' in the other name. If you're going to say it the English way I'd stick to one syllable also or two if you really like the name. I see the names you like mostly all end in ' -an' ... I like the Aidan in your list but if it was my list I'd go for one syllable. Like in HL1's post >> James I've always liked, simple for a name like Gilberto, or Jace.
