My name is Jessalin and I LOVE my name. While it is unique, I can always shorten it to Jessie to be a more "common" name. All my close friends call me Jessie, but in school I would never correct the teachers so that they would call me Jessalin. Then in college I introduced myself as Jessalin so all my college friends call me Jessalin. That is what I loved most about this name....it is unique but also has a nickname that is appropriate if she ever decides to shorten it. I say go for it!

I adore this name. It is unique and creative and not too out there! I say if you love it too go for it. I liked a name that everyone else swore up and down my son would get made fun of for having and sometimes I feel regret that I didn't just go with my gut and name him what I wanted. I love his name now but at first I was very overwhelmed by it all. you are the one who is carrying the babe for 9 months with all the discomforts and you will be the only one giving birth not to mention pain after birth. Go with your instinct. Let me know what you decide.
