Kyrie Eleison By cdv 5 Months, 3 Weeks Ago "Kyrie Eleison" = pronounced Kee-REE - EE-lay-son (name for Girl) is a Catholic chant. Also the title of a song by a late-80's or early-90's group called "Mr. Mister".
I have recently read that NON-Catholics and even people with NO religion are beginning to get hooked on this name. I personally would not choose it but have just heard the song right now and I must say that it does have an attractive "ring" to it. Comments?

People who aren't Catholic or any religion won't know what it means and that is ... (had to Google it .. lol ...) "God have mercy" it's a GREEK phrase. (which we ALL need sometimes - Mercy not Greek, sorry .. lol) Don't know about using both though. 'Eleison' hard to understand UNLESS spelling is changed. (Now you've got the song running thu' my HEAD!!) Good post, thanx!!

One is ... "Carry a laser (Kyrie Eleison) on the road that I must follow/ Carry a laser ......" (I cannot stop laughing) Why did you post this? To make us laugh because now I CANNOT get the song out of MY head!! Okay .. seriously this is a beautiful name but no way would I saddle my child with Eleison even Elayson. (no that is not bad) And Kyrie could be Keeri? No. It is a name all of its own and really lovely.

I know of the "misheard lyrics" (well just the two words in this case) but I seriously wondered about people naming their child that ... (and I was NOT laughing). It IS beautiful, absolutely! But the meaning WILL matter and even if you are an atheist you will still love the name and the sound. But now because of the other misheard lyric besides the "carry a laser" I have just got over a laughing/giggling fit so .... .... can you please just ignore my post? Many thanks ... CmB ...  - ing
