What do you think of the name Riya? (Ree-Ah)

Also, what would be some good middle names, and which spelling would be best?

Not a big fan of the name because there's a large bird called a Rhea that sounds exactly like Riya. However, "Reah" would be the best spelling and I'd probably use Nicole as the middle name.

not my favorite either. I like the spelling and thought it was pronounced Rye-a at first which is a pretty name. However, the pronunciation Ree-a just brought all kinds of possible ways for the poor thing to be teased to mind. I mean no offense but I can see grade school kids adding Dia to the beginning of her name. not trying to upset you but having people point stuff like that out helped me narrow down my list. If you are really in love with the name though, then go for it.

My name is Ria, and I love my name, I'm really thankful that it wasn't spelt in any other way and I've thanked my parents profusely for that "Reah" sounds less graceful, and "Riya" sounds as though it would be pronounced Ry-ah, which would make for some frustrating situations. Anyway, just thought I would let you know the opinion of a Ria herself

Never in my life did I have this problem of bullying, I think it's because diarrhoea is spelt quite differently so the association is not so clear. When I was quite young, about 10 years old, a young boy once made a comment about it, and all of my friends ended up teasing him for having such a disgusting mind. From this, he never ever brought it up again I love my name and wouldn't want it any other way!
