Belated Thank You!! ("French Boys' Names)
By cdv 5 Months Ago
QUOTE:
I go for French-sounding names, as my married surname (last name) is "de Villiers" - South African Afrikaans (from the early French Huguenots). I'm Australian.
I've a long way to go so just thinking "girl" at the moment.
I like 'J's' and 'G's' - but not specifically. Our nearly-4 y.o. daughter is Joely Dior - 'JD' for a nickname. (Joely is not from the French 'Jolie' but it sounds it)
Would be interested to see if any suggestions co-incide with some on my list.

Thanks for all the "Girl Name" Suggestions!
So it's Boys turn now but I've only ONE for 1st names, NONE for 2nd as it will be 'Jacques' (hubby is Nicolas Jacques)

OMGosh ... I'm so sorry I thought I'd posted a 'thank you' 2 weeks ago!! (my hormones are jumping )...
Quite a few of your suggestions were on my list, viz. 'Etienne' -- 'Gaspard' -- 'Antoine' -- but as I said, not living in France I had to be careful about pronunciation (d/h is content to leave names to me as long as his children are not laughed at or teased at school! But it was a definite "please no!" to Remy which I love!

So. We have a SON on the way! I found the name, the only one listed, on another site.
Daneric Jacques (pr: Dan-ERIK (our way) ZHAAK) Danny & DJ for nn.
Joely Dior (JD) can't wait for 'her' baby!

Thanks everyone for your time!!
Carly de V.
