For My Friend - Names: " Beryl" & "Tiffany"
By cdv 5 Months Ago
My pal is having a Girl in 2 months and she likes a 'jewel' or a 'semi-precious stone' in one of the names.
Surname (last) Martin.
Whatever the choice, Tiffany or Beryl must be the First Name.
Their first choice was almost a definite :
Berylin Joy Martin ... (is Beryl as uncommon as I think?)
Now added on is:
Beryl Amber Martin
Beryl Jade Martin
Tiffany Topaz Martin
Tiffani-Amber Martin
Tiffani-Jade Martin
She feels with a name ending in an 'i' it looks more complete/tidier with a hyphenated second name, but won't call her both names of course, IF they go for it.
I like 'Tiffany-Amber'
Wdyt she'd like to know

Love a lot of her names/combo's.
I like:
Berylin Joy Martin (the first choice)
Beryl Jade Martin (quite like the two 'stones' together)
Tiffani-Amber Martin
To answer your question: In the UK = Beryl is fairly common with Meryl and Teryl, but I love 'researching'
There is also listed:
Deryl (masc.)
Jeryl (uni-sex)
Keryl (masc. German)
Neryl (fem.)
Veryl (masc.)

beryl is a very uncommon name. it sounds like barrel. i would reccommend that she go with tiffany without an I at the end. children with uncommon spellings are always dealing with their name being misspelled.

Everyone on here is entitled to their own opinion of course but ... Where on this earth do you live?! And how on this earth do you pronounce vowels?!!!
BEryl is BEryl! BA-rrel is BArrel!
You've another post advising the use of "unusual Boy and Girl names" = Half of each I EITHER WORK WITH ... or have HEARD OF ... one CELIA lives across the road from me at my home. It depends on where you live!!

im sorry that you do not agree that berryl is a common name. i assumed the person is from the US. obviously the person is not because living in america for my entire 25 years of life, ive never heard the name beryl. and in america we would pronounce beryl and teryl as "barrel" and "tarrel." also, if i give an opinion on "unusual names" they are typically not extremely unusual since i feel that extremely unusual names sound like someone just made them up off the top of his/her head.
