Is it too common?
By silversky32 4 Months, 3 Weeks Ago
Okay so DH and I have been through a million names and none seem to be just the right one. We have been stuck on Adeline as a middle name after my great aunt who recently passed...it was her middle name
and her first name was Margaret. Anyway he really likes Tessa Adeline which I'm sure some of you remember me posting. However, it has never seemed "right" to me. So night before last I was falling asleep and all of a sudden I thought of Addisyn Margaret and calling her Addie May for short as a little girl. I really like it and i was wondering what you all thought. Is it too common and does it sound ok together? DH seems to be on board and so do my older kids.Opinions welcome and really appreciated.

well since Addisyn is another spelling of Addison, it's actually a boys name, meaning son of Adam, the Y just makes it "trendy" so that's a no for me.
Tessa Adeline is a beautiful name and so is Margaret but Addisyn ruins it for me, I like the first combo better.
Sorry

oh and to answer your question, yes it is probably really common. If you want to call her Addie May as a nickname Adeline or Adelaide Margaret would work just fine and would be much girlier.

I love it, although I'm not too fond of the way everybody is replacing vowels with y. I don't think it is too common at all, and I don't see why you shouldn't go with it if your family likes it and you like it (although addison/addisyn is technically a boy's name).

I think it is a beautiful name.
The Y makes it cute and more girly.

If you like it, GO FOR IT!

Technically a whole hundred boys' names are now girls' names, just one being Hunter which I love - and I hate a girl being called that!!

Addisyn is fine whatever the spelling.

Addie May is sweet ... go with your heart.

that doesn't make it normal....should I start saving Katarina Isobel for my first born son instead of daughter then? Times are changing..
