I like Elliot more for a boy. Boys' names are hard to come up with and more and more of them are becoming girls' names- please leave boys' names boys' names.

haven't you heard? We're switching the genders completely!
My first boy is going to be Katarina Isobel and my first girl Emilio Augustin or Theodore Cruz!

Yep-you can name your baby anything that you want. I personally think more highly of people naming their children more orignial names, not your everyday names. I would maybe soften up the spelling and make it a little more feminine.
Maybe Elyott, Ellyot, etc. Good luck.

made-up spelling doesn't make a male name look more feminine or make a common name more unique... but please don't take that as an insult anyone who reads this, I mean, you're intelligent people of course.

How do you know this will burden kids? I have had to spell/correct my name all my life. It is a russian-origin name so people have always had difficulty. However, I LOVE my name, and it has always made great conversation. So, to everyone, name your kids what you love and feel peace about, and don't let the nay-sayers deter you

There was never said you were unintelligent, just that doing that to the spelling of your name looks unintelligent. My name is misspelled and sure my parents had their personal reasons for it, not just : OMG this random Y looks sooo cuyoot! I still think they made a stupid mistake spelling my name that way.

I love childgobbler's idea... Elliot as a first name and a more girly middle name to balance it out. I think the name Elliot for a girl would be fine, and cute, but you need to make sure she has a nickname to use too if she gets teased with Elliot (which i hope she won't). I think Ellie or Elle would be perfect..?? What do you think? Eliette is also a cute spelling

Good luck, Ella
