I never defined her as a brat, I said that I would expect her to turn out to be a brat as it is the opposite of Precious. Her parents actually know how I feel about the name as they asked me how I felt about it before she was born. When people ask me these questions I answer them honestly. I love the child, I hate the first decision her parents made, but this child's name would never change the way I feel about her in the first place.
About the Precious will turn out a brat thing it is in the same category as that Grace will be clumsy, Faith will be an atheist, Chastity will..you can figure that one out.

I have a friend that I worked with and her name is Precious.She was born way before the Lord of the rings movies came out.I worked with her for a few years and not once did ANYONE ever make fun of or any rude comments about her name.Yes you do have the right to not like the name but she isn't your child.{no offense.}Everyone is entitled to name there child what they want.

And to DaddysGirl27 I think Mirakal is a beautiful name.It is unique and special.There is probably beautiful meaning to the name.

Rude comments is the reason they changed it, not my rude comments though, you may not think so but when a child is already named I treat it and it's name with respect. And I never said that they didn't have the right to name her Precious, I just did a happy dance when they changed it

But for some people they give the names because there is a special meaning behind it.My Girl Precious was given that name because her mom was told she could never have kids and when she got pregnant with her the Dr's said she most likely wouldn't be able to carry her to term and if she did her and the baby might not make it, but she did.So that is why she was named Precious.
