Re:Haven By Tee 3 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Doesn't matter about "What was she thinking?!!" because the name is also "Old English" (and the meaning is 'refuge' what better name?)
I'd spell it just as is. Lovely ... so many second names will go.

Re:Haven By cnicoles6 3 Months, 3 Weeks Ago I thought about the name Haven and said ick at first. But the meaning is just so awesome. I think you should definitely keep it in the running, sp. Haven, don't confuse anyone. lol

By Flutura 3 Months, 3 Weeks Ago I'm a Psychology major, and I constantly learn about cults and such, and we always learn about how cults meet in havens because they're safe places. So I associate the name very very heavily with cults and cult activity.
She'll be confused for Heaven quite often as well, which is more popular than Haven, so that may annoy her. I really dislike the name. I feel like you could give her a name meaning "safe" without it being so obvious. Haven's really harsh, and the sound's unattractive IMO. It's also really trendy.. it's the kind of name that'll be dated to a certain period (1990s-early 2000s).. you'll hear the name, and know when a little Haven was born. Just my opinion of course, but I really dislike it.

Re:Haven By susieqzee 3 Months, 3 Weeks Ago I really hope you use the name Haven. I have not heard that name used , so I doubt you can really consider it "trendy".
I also disagree that people are going to mix it up with heaven, if they do it was because they were too lazy to look properly and read the whole name. As for it being associated with cults....I think IF it were it would be by the minority, not the majority. Through the years many names have taken on new associations. If you were gay when I was a child, it meant you were happy. Now we all know people think it refers to homosexuality. That one is obvious unfortunatly. But Haven and cult...I think is more reaching. Give her a lovely middle name to go along with it and you will be fine.

Re:Haven By HJ992 3 Months, 3 Weeks Ago I agree totally with susieqzee! The meaning is good, the spelling is cute and easy to pronounce. I don't think it will get mixed up with Heaven, lazy people who dont bother to read things properly, maybe but i think it's lovely. Also goes with alot of middle names
Cults? that certainly didnt pop into my head when i read the name! Maybe because im just a regular person, i guess to a professional it may do, but i think it will be quite unlikely.

I like Haven. To digress for a moment ... I also like DAMIEN but when I posted the name one time, as a possible name to add to my list, somebody was so shocked!! How could I?? The name was EVIL!! ... had something to do with SATANISM!! Well, when I researched I found out that the name was the character 'Damien Thorn' - the child antichrist in the movie "The Omen"!! The name actually comes from the Greek meaning 'to tame', and belonged to Third Century Christian twin martyrs. Saints Damianos and Cosmas. Physicians. Today they are the patron saints of physicians! I got that from a good source. Last Edit: 2008/08/13 17:47 By .
