I know i might be a bit biased because it's my name but i love it. I do think of Phoebe off Charmed the most and something think of Phoebe of friends also but i see past it because it's my name. If you really like you shouldn't let tv programmes get in your way.

Then there are people like me and I never watched Sex in the City or Charmed so I would have no association. As for friends, I think of Lisa Kudrow, not Phoebe, and many ppl never watched that show either. BTW, my eldest was Lisa!
Tell him it is of greek origin and means bright, shining. In the Bible she was a woman who aided Paul and other's.In greek Mythology it is from Phoebus Apollo, God of Light. It 1st became popular in the 18th century. I think that was a few years before "Friends".

And honestly, Lisa Kudrow is kinda cool. Not a bad person to BE named after. That show had it's run, but now it's over. If we only used names that were never on popular tv shows, there would be no Christian's, Zachary's, Sarah's and hosts of other names. That's just not fair to these awesome names, to retire them because of popular associations with media. LET IT GO MAN!! LOL
