Byron?
By HJ992 3 Months, 1 Week Ago
What do you all think of Byron for a boy? It's what my friend is naming her baby..
It's a pretty unique name but it keeps reminding me of a Bison, those big hairy animals..

I kind of like it. It's unusual yet neat at the same time.

I agree, it also reminds me of a bison. I don't think it's unique at all i hear it all the time especially in the last year or so. Personally i don't like it, but it's not the worst name i've heard.

On my "Most popular baby names of the Decade List:

Byran is listed at #54 out of a list of 1000 names. That means, there are 946 names on this list that are less commom, due to statistics findings. Just thought you'd like to know. But again, it is her taste, her choice, her child, her decision. It would be interesting to discuss this with her directly, to hear how she has created his full name. Just for interest and maybe she can give other ideas. You sound like a caring friend - but it is her call.

I LOVE that name because it's the name of one of my favorite poets, Lord George Gordon Byron. I does sound like "bison", but I don't think of that at all because Byron's poetry is so amazing. What a great namesake for a child to have. I wonder if the mother even knows about Lord Byron.

She walks in beauty, like the night
of cloudless climbs and starry skies
and all that's best of dark and bright
meet in her aspect, and her eyes...

Good stuff.

I love Byron (and yes in a big part because of Lord Byron).

I guess it sorta sounds like Bison but thats not something that would deter me from the name (or ever occur to me, I guess I don't spend a great deal of time thinking about Bison )

I wanted it on the list for this bub but it sounds a bit too much like my eldest sons name for me to use it.
