I think a name has to be a little unique however too unique is a little bitof a burden My husbands name is Joseph so he had like 5 or 6 boys in his class with that name it was atrue pain however my nameis Delores that is a very older sounding name so I got picked on a lot Because of course after I was born Superman came out and wouldnt you know it my maiden name is LANE so I got Lois lane alot

Our daughter is Cheyenne Nicole her nameis a little unique (not everyone in class has it) and I can still relate to Try to stick with what parents like but think abotuthe long term
that is one thing we didnt do because our daughter has 21 letters in her name and it was difficult filling out start of school paperwork

I definatly think that naming a child is alot of work! When we named our first son Bronson Ridge, he is 2 years old now. We have not met another person with that name..yet. i am almost 8 months pregnant now. We did not want to find out if it is a girl or a boy. We have a name for a boy picked out and it is Aspen Romero. We are still looking for a girl's name!! My husband and I love uncommon names to say the least. Any help with a girls name would be wanted!! Thanks!

I think that parents should be wary of getting caught up in fad names. Names that when your child enters school there is 20 of them in the same class. Also, made up names;like brooklyn, madison. I can hardley imagine a grown up with those names.

What about the name Bronwyn or Ealasaid. They are both old names and documented in baby book names that go back to the mid 1800's

Personally, I would suggest thinking about whether the child could get teased for having a name. Otherwise, if you're sure it's nothing like "Fanny" or "Dick" or anything too weird, that could open your child up for being teased, then you should pick a name you love, but one that's not too difficult to spell and pronounce. I knew a girl with the name Beaujoulais - which is a gorgeous name, but no one could spell it properly (I'm not sure even I have) and just by reading the name, not many people could pronounce it. The poor girl spent many wasted hours explaining and correcting people.
