How painful are they?
By Sayumee 2 Years, 8 Months Ago
Well I'm young so I won't be pregnant any time soon but I was wondering how painful pregnancy is. Like the contractions and cramps. Because I have horrible period cramps like sometimes I can't move so Im kinda scared for pregnancy pain. Like how do they compare, if at all?

This might be a really stupid question.im just curious.

Its like nothing you can reference don't worry about it. Everything will be fine and there are an array of pain controls you can use to help you along.

It's not a stupid question. The pain during pregnancy and birth are different for each woman and it partially depends on your level of pain tolerance. During pregnancy you can use tylenol for pain relief for back pain and sore breasts etc. During labor there are a lot of options for pain relief ranging from a warm bath to an epidural.

Regardless of how painful anything is during pregnancy and labour, the best part is it's all forgotten about when the baby gets there... As soon as you are holding that baby in your arms you forget what you went through... Til you go through it again then it all comes flooding back LOL

when i had contractions they were like a knife ripping across my pubic bone, i didnt give birth naturaly had to have emergency c-sec and they ripped my uturus and i had to have a transfusion the next day, when i got out of bed after 2 days it felt like my tummy would fall out then i got an infection and had to have antibiotics for 3months, but i can honestly say that when i first saw her i forgot all the pain ect and id go through it all again tomorrow. every one is different some people can go through the pain ok some cant, i wouldnt worry about it i just thought that it couldnt be that bad as women have more than one baby

It really does depend on your pain tolerance, I have severe period cramps like you do still to this day.. My contractions were about 2 to 5x worse than them, but after they give you your epidural it all goes away... the quicker you get it the better.. Just keep that in mind.
