Endometriosis
By Ramzie 3 Years, 1 Month Ago
Hey,

I'm hoping I can find a few answers here. I am 26 and have been diagnosed with Endometriosis. I have had a laparoscopy as a treatment, which has not suppressed the pain. I became pregnant about three years ago and unfortunately had a miscarriage, which my doctor attributed to the disease. Since then, my husband and I have been trying to conceive and have so far been unsuccessful.

I don't think I am infertile. At least I hope not. Has anyone heard of any good treatments for this disease? Or have conceived and carried a child full term?

Every time I leave the OBGYN, I feel a little lost. My dream is to one day be able to have a child of our own.

Any information would be helpful.

Thank You!

I have, many times. It's not that he's not a GOOD doctor, because he is. It's just that he's not all that informative. We did that laparoscopy a little less than two years ago and since then, during my regular visits, he always just simply says "keep trying"

I know one good method for "treating" it is using birth control, but obviously I don't want that.

I was just hoping I could find someone going through the same thing-- or has went through the same thing.

Until I figure it out, I guess we'll just "keep trying". Which is not as bad as it sounds

Thank You, Seaason

I had a CT scan done, they were checking for something else and they saw some endometriosis, but they're not exactly sure how much of it i have. Right now the treatment i have is birthcontrol and it is not helping. I hurt really bad still. They said if that don't work that they'd put me on a pill that you take three times a day. Sorry i can't remember the name of it. But i do know someone who had a successful pregnancy. Also, i've heard the only way to get rid of all of it completely is to get pregnant. Someone who is kin to a lady at my Church had it and she got pregnant. It got rid of alot of it. They told her if she got pregnant again right away it'd get rid of all of it. She did and as far as i know she doesn't have anymore. It can cause you to be infertile, but people can also have children and have endometriosis.

I hope this helps! Don't give up! It's possible to have a baby! Goodluck!

Hi there,

I see that your original post was a while ago, so i'm not sure you'll get this or if it will help, however i thought i would pass on what i know. I too have what is believed to be Endometriosis, however i have not had the lap. surgery. My doctor said that would be something to consider if i couldnt manage it with tylenol/IB prophen. A friend of mine did have the surgery and has it back, so its surely not a permanent solution. We are trying to get pregnent in the next couple months, however with endometriosis, it depends on where it is. It can grow on the inside of your uterus, the outside, on your bowel - all over. What i have heard was that if its on the inside of your uterus, you can have difficulty getting pregnant as the baby/placenta can have trouble attaching to your uterus. I have heard, that if you get pregnant, this can help decrease ednometriosis, and its symptoms.

I hope this helps...
