So I am almost 34 weeks pregnant now and I getting so exhausted working 40 hours a week. My hands and feet are swelling bad, my back aches terribly, I'm so tired all the time, and I get so emotional with cutomers that come in, should I talk to my doctor about starting my maternity leave early or should I stick it out till my due date? I would hate to be too exhausted for when the time comes to giving birth!

This is my first baby so I'm not sure what to expect, so any advice from the mom's that have been there done that would really be appreciated!

My doctor wrote me a note about 3 weeks before my due date to not work anymore than 5 hours a day and that I should stop working completely about a week before my due date but I was at high risk for pre clampsia so thats why he wrote me the note. However if you are that exhuasted I would talk to your doctor about cutting back your hours until its time cause your gonna want to spend all of your maternity leave with your baby and you will regret taking it early cause then you dont have as much with your baby.

It is kind of a toss up betwixt a lot of things. How much maternity leave do you get? Do you have a bit of money socked back that would allow you a bit of extra time? Is your boss sympathetic to pregnant women? How much time do you feel you need to spend with baby when he/she is born?

Look at all these factors and try to find a happy middle.
