The birth control shot. I have a few questions to people who were on it for more than a year or someone you know. I was just wondering if anyone who was on it for at least a year was able to have children/more children after being on it and how long did it take? Im asking because I was on it for two years and was suppose to renew the shot in july but didnt cus we are ready for another baby, my periods returned in october so it took only three months for my periods to returned and I heard it can take at least six months but still have not been able to concieve yet. well I was at work the other day when someone kinda scared me she said she knew two people (way older than me) who were on the shot but wasnt able to get pregnant due to the shot, so I was kinda hoping that you guys can make me feel better and reasure me that there are people who did have kids after being on the shot, also once you get your periods back arent you able to concieve right away since you now have a period?

Also after reading some of the "PERIOD" posts it reminded me that my last cycle was completly abnormal, ever since my periods have been back they have been very regular and came on the same day every month ( the 27th) last 5-7 days but this last period was weird I start my period december 27th and the first couple days started normal then every other day it would go away then the next day it would come back then go away and so on until about the 3rd and now starting either mon or tue I started having like a bloodish brownish discharge and it almost feels like I may have a yeast infection and im still having the brownish period looking discharge. would anyone know what may be going on? That isnt a pregnancy is it?

It could be a lot of things, don't get your hopes up!

As for your first question, I think you can concieve, but you won't necessarily. It can take a long time off the shot until you actually do.

Good luck!

How's this for a boost in your hopes of conceiving after depo...

I was on very regular & consistent depo shots every 12 weeks for 4 and a half years, and actually got pregnant with my 3rd child WHILE I WAS ON DEPO!!!! So, I definitely wouldn't be concerned about "adverse" affects of being on it for a more brief amount of time! =0)

I would see your doctor. Your doctor can have some testing done to see that you are ovulating. Just because you have a period doesnt mean you ovulate regularly every month.

May get an ovulation kit- that might help you to "time" things better for a pregnancy.
