Bad heartburn at night, any cures?
By Shell28 1 Year, 8 Months Ago
Hi I'm 30+ weeks pregnant and for the last week I have terrible heartburn which only happens at night!!! Has anyone got any natural ways to suggest that might help get rid of it? It's keeping me up all night and I want to avoid going to the chemist if there is another way. Thankyou in advance

Well, I just took something like Tums and slept upright in a recliner when I had too. I don't know if that's natural enough; that's my only advice. I'd love to hear what others have done. Hope you feel better!

for starters try to avoid anything that may be causing the problem.

ginger ale or peppermint might settle it a little- but if it's severe I'd go with Tums or whatever your dr recommends.

good luck!

Thanks so far ladies, I had it bad with my last pregnancy as well and i use to eat about half a packet of heartburn sweets throughout the night before it eased. I think tonight I will prop myself up abit and I have text my partner to get me some peppermint tea on his way back from work tonight. Will see what happens thanks alot

I had terrible heartburn too. I used a teaspoon of baking soda. You can either mix it into a small glass of water or just put it straight into your mouth. It really helped me!

Hi i am 25+ weeks and have had bad heart burn/intergestion since i was about 18 weeks i tried all the natural first but unfourtunatlly nothing helped with it i ended up having to go to the doctors because i just couldnt handle it any more!! he gave me these tablets which are COMPLETELY safe to take while pregnant, he told m to take 1 twice a day but like you i was only getting it at night so i found 1 tablet right before bed helped me get through the night and get better night sleep.....

but before this you could try eating several SMALL meals instead of three BIG ones, this made no difference for me but it may help you...

good luck =)
