ok so i went to the doctor 2day. I'm 38 weeks and 3 days. Should they be checking to see if i'm dilated? I go to the doctor every week. I'm just wondering because they haven't checked me yet? Also My doctors say my feet are way 2 swollen and i should keep them elavated and drink lots of water and stay in the AC but they are telling me that i still can go to work. I'd like to know how i'm suppose to do what they say to get the swelling down if i have to go to work. Don't you love doctors... anywayz just wanna see when every1 else started gettin checked out cuz every1 else i know has been being checked everytime they go to the doctor there last month.

some doctors dont do the internals the last month because althoguht they can tell you how dialated or effaced you are, it has no bearing on when the baby will actually be born. its a bit painful, and quite unnecessary. i am 38 weeks 5 days and my doctor only did 1 internal to make sure the head is dropped, other than that he says its unncessary. and with the work thing, i dont know how that will work, ive been off since 32 weeks so im afraid i wont be much help there.

o ok well i'm also a high risk pregnancy so idk. But i only work like 1 or 2 dayz a week if i really have too.So i finished putting everything 2getha 2day now so i am 100% ready when i go.

My doctor never did an internal exam on me. He keep saying that he was going to but by feeling my stomach he was able to tell the head was down and in position so I was not worried about and internal exam. The time that he was going to check me I went into labor six days later.
Drink lots of water and put your feet up and relax. Your baby will come when he or she is ready.

I got the internal exams everytime I went to the doctors but really it doesnt help! they just tell u the same stuff over and over! just wait! when its time you'll know!!!
