No its not your period, if it was your period that'd mean your uterin lining is flushing out which might not be that good, it'd be horrible!

it is very possible my grandmother had 9 kids and with all 9 she got her period.

I looked this up, and it is not possible to have an actual period like you do before you are pregnant. Sometimes women can bleed or spot, but a period is the shedding of the lining of the uterus (blood) when an egg is not fertilized or implanted. If you are pregnant, this is not possible because you are not ovulating, and your lining is being used for the baby. So the bleeding is not actually a period.
