SCARED!!!
By mommy2be123 4 Months, 3 Weeks Ago
Ok well I know i complained about being overdue but i'm going to be induced tomorrow at 8pm and i'm scared and nervous. I haven't really had an appetite all day. I just don't know why i really feel like this. I guess i'm scared something bad is going to happen. I don't even really know who will be at the hospital with me. My mom is going in with me 2moro night but she has to leave for work in the AM. So i guess i'm going to be alone until i actually go into labor. My child's father isn't coming til something starts he will just drive me crazy i think lol!! My sister and mom gotta work til the time comes...But anyways do you people think i'm crazy??? Is it normal to be scared and nervous this is my first child!!

Being nervous is completely normal. I don't know a first time mom that wasn't. I was scared out of my mind with my first child. Do you have any magazines or crossword puzzles? (even a coloring book) Bringing something to pass the time and keep your mind off of everything sometimes helps.

It's normal to be nervous b/c you've never done this before. I educated myself as much as possible about what was going to take place. The "What to expect when you are expecting" book & pregnancy magazines helped prepare me alot. Plus I asked my mid-wife & supportive friends who had children tons of questions so I would not be in the dark. Take along some of your favorite magazines & a good book in case it takes a while. Bring you a portable c.d player with a c.d that soothes you if you can & focus on the fact that soon your amazing child is going to be in your arms. Try not to focus on the negatives, the calmer you are, the easier everything will flow. If I would focus on my breathing & think positively it really helped me. Know that it is your choice if you want to deliver with or without medication to numb the pain. Also, don't listen to everyone's horror stories, for some crazy reason everyone likes to tell pregnant women of their labor nightmares...but it wasn't near as bad as I had been told. I have positive memories of my labor b/c I chose to not freak out! I prayed throughout the labor & it brought me alot of peace & comfort. We are made to do this, God gave us the ability to carry & bring children into the world. I remember feeling so empowered as a women after delivering my child! You can absolutely do this! Just think of it as the final step before getting the reward, you've already put your heart into 9 months...now it's time to recieve the beautiful gift! God Bless.
