Tessa Adeline was born on July 13 at 2:10 p.m. She was 10 days over due and weighed 9lbs. 7oz and is 20 and 1/2 inches long. I went in to be induced Sunday morning and everything appeared to be going well. Since this was my fourth baby I thought I was prepared for anything. There was a little concern over her position but after I received my epidural and relaxed she moved down and turned to a good position. I fell asleep and woke up an hour later to be checked and I had dilated to 5 cm. This was at around 2 p.m. This was when the doctor discovered her cord was prolapsed ( coming out first and starting to pinch off). He tried to manuever it around to release the pressure on it but they completely lost her heart beat at that point. Next thing I know I was being rushed in for an emergency c-section and the baby was in major distress. They had her out within 5 minutes and as soon as she started crying my DH and I were beside ourselves and in tears. I haven't been on much because I spend most of my time staring at her and being grateful for our little miracle. I just thought I'd share her birth story since so many of you have been along for most of the pregnancy. We came home on Tuesday and all is well. She is eating a like a champ and healthy as can be

Congratulations! I had been wondering if you had her yet. I am glad everything turned out well. I like her name! My friend is going in tonight to have her second baby. Her due date is today, and when she went to the doctor yesterday he measured 9 lb. 9 oz. Her first baby was a girl-9 lb. 8 oz, and she was able to have her. But her doctor is saying this time that this baby may have to be delivered by c-section because his measurements seem to be bigger. So she'll just have to wait and see and hope everything will go well! Enjoy your time with your new baby girl! Those are some of the best days, just doing nothing much but sitting and holding and watching your baby.
