It seems that the amount of teens getting pregnant is still on the rise - and girls are getting pregnant younger than ever! I just read a news article that teen pregnancy is up for the first time in 15 years! What do you think?

I totally agree. It is astonishing! I really think the young society is wrapped up in the celebrity world more than the previous generations have been. So called "reality" tv hasn't helped much either. It is apparently becoming "trendy" to carry a baby around. When teens have a baby and the glam that supposedly was supposed to come with it is no where to be found...I think it is a huge big girl pill they'll have to swallow. Those children, in return, will have parents that aren't ready to shepherd their hearts, and probably will cause the future generations to really be hurting.
All that being said, teens who end up pregnant, can do the right thing. They can give their child to a loving, responsible family or choose to grow up fast and raise their child in a God-honoring way.

Just for the record I don't approve of teen pregnancy. Girls should wait till they are married. Putting the child up for adoption is not always the right choice.

It would be best if kids, male and female, waited till they were adults and preferably married to have sex. But this is the real world and it frequently doesn't happen that way. I agree that if a teenager does get

Having said that I think we need to do a lot more SEX ED. We need to educate our kids on making responsible choices & make them feel comfortable going to an adult (parent, close relative, etc) for help. When my daughter starts the onset of puberty I hope I am able to help her avoid the mistakes that many kids make.

Well yes of course teen pregnancy has been on the rise, but I really think people should stop using the media or whatever as an excuse teens aren't that stupid and I think that's insulting and also people shouldn't just give them an excuse, hello TEEN ANGST, teens want to have sex, I kept in my pants til prom night and I know that was semi stupid but in high school when everyone is having sex it's kind of hard to just hold back.

Another thing when parents are stressed kids get stressed, a really good friend of mine parent's we're going through extreame fincial trouble, their house was getting foreclosed and everything and she expressed a lot of her anger through/with boyfriend and eventually it got sexual.

Just because so many of us get pregnant doesnt mean we are going to be terrible mothers and fathers! Im 16, I have my own house. Whatever my son needs I know I can provide it for him! As soon as I got pregnant I knew my life was going to change dramatically and I would need to "grow up" as most of you say. We arent as stupid as you guys think we are. Every year more and more teens get pregnant, well its because as the years go by teens get more educated and smarter and peer pressure gets worse and worse. Even if there is more sex edu. that just makes us want to do it more. No matter what anyone tries to do, if teens want to have sex, they will. Nobody can control that unless they tie them up! And as for my sister, she is 18 and was due day before yesterday. She is still going to get her diploma and go to college. I know getting pregnant before marriage, or even having sex before we are marriage isnt smart. But I think you guys should just accept it, we will do what we want. And let us make our own decisions. It IS possible to have the greatest life for your child if you get pregnant. You dont ruin your life in any way as so many people say you do. You can still go to school, and get your education. It may not be as easy but it is possible. I had EVERYTHING I ever wanted, my parents could buy me whatever they felt like buying, and my mom had gotten pregnant at 16. So I know it is possible to have a good life, and I already am!!!
