I think that it is going to get worse and worse as the years go by! The media is making it seem o.k. for teenagers to get pregnant but honestly I feel they need to raise themselves before they do another baby!

I think you all need to stop bashing teen mothers! I can give you the name of several teens who are better parents that most adult mothers out there! My grandmother was a teen mom, a few aunts are teen moms, im a teen mom myself. I have a 5 month old daughter and I'll be 16 in 5 days. I love my daughter to death and beyond cause she's almost all I have in this world.

Seriously, teenage pregnancy rates may be rising. and in some cases, they arent meant to happen. my cousin was raped 2 years ago and now has a 2 year old daughter that she didnt initially want but now loves.

Saying teenage mothers all suck and shouldnt be having kids is a stupid stereotype.

I had my first son when I was 17. My whole life and career is sosuccessful, I graduated high school and college, and I won my own center for Autistic children.

I aggree with Natalia, teenagers arent just having babies because of the media, are you kidding me? Teenagers don't just automatically think oh jamie lynn spears is having a baby so I'll have one too.
Teens have so many other better things to do than idolize the media.

I am personally not a teen mom and really I guess I have no right to post an opinion on the subject I just happened to pass by the topic as I was looking for a name to give a character in a story. But some adults and religious seem to think just because we are teens and younger than them we are so much stupider than them and our opinions do not matter. That since we are only "children" our self's that we are unable to care for our self's with out some adult standing over us scolding and hold our hands. They can't seem to realize that kids these days are a lot more self reliant than they were back in the old days. Look at me I am 19 going to be 20 in little over a month married to the greatest man in the word with a place of my own, my own bills to pay and I am doing great.

Kids need their parents to a point and some aren't responsible enough to take care of them self's much less a child but DO NOT lump us all together as one group. For all of the teen mothers out there doing a great job with your kid Good job, you have every right to be proud of your child and yourself. Keep up the good work and don't let any one tell you you are wrong for your choices.

new mami has a waaay good point. we have sex ed. classes at school and b4 we had those not 1 girl was pregnant. sense we started having them 2 girls that i know have gotten pregnant. if u are constantly surrounded by it, it just makes you want to do it more! but i think people r more open about stuff now so the teens can get help and advice if they need it. you cant stop teens from getting pregnant thats just the way it is!

I'm 17 and 9 weeks pregnant... And dont think anyone as room to talk! I am doing just fine have a beautiful home wonderful boyfriend who has a great job still going to school and already planning on my college years. Age is nothing but a number it doesnt define how good of parents a person can be. Hell i know of people late 20's even 30's who are not the best parents ever. This is life and im sure jus like my grandparents did most of ur parents had u guys at a young age. God gives us the best thing out there its up to u to make the best of it.
