Is it safe to colour your hair when being pregnant?

yes. I did it all the time.
Perming is not very good as many times the curl will not take place.

There are sooo many different views to this. Now most doctors will say never to do it, but my midwife told me I could dye mine as long as it was after the first trimester and as long as the smell of the chemicals does not bother you.

I wouldn't do it the chemicals and smell can cause harm to the baby, i have a neighbor who had her baby and he was born with down-syndrome, she suspects it was from dying her hair but you never know. Personally i wouldnt do it though.

I also heard both answers because the amonia and chemicals going into the blood stream, it also says no in the book but I put a little bit of high lights in when I was preggo and my baby was fine. But if you really want to do it and do it all one color then I suggest nonpermante. I just did it and it stays for 2 months without damaging your hair or having your roots show for too long

Its not a crisis My sister is a licenced hair dresser and she practiced both times she was pregnant. you do have to be careful though because of the hormone changes of being pregnant your hair may not react to the chemicals they way it did before you were pregnant.
