I don't think it's a good idea to smoke AT ALL. I understand how addicted people can get but there's got to be some way to resist it when pregnant. It's so dangerous, and I'm sure you want your baby to be healthy.

i understand what you are saying but everyone i have asked more a less so far have said they smoked with their children and have had NO problems. yet 2 people who i did ask gave up smoking and both miscarried. doctors blame everything on smoking and new evidence shows that caffeine is causing more problems then smoking at the moment.

I was a smoker, and the DAY i found out I was pregnant with my princess is the DAY I quit... Easy as that...

Don't take any chances. It is REALLY bad for your baby. There is NO better reason to just throw them away...

smoking isn't good for anyone ...period. Cigarettes are full of all sorts of things besides nicotine that are really horrible for your own body so why expose a developing fetus to it? You wouldn't drink alcohol, eat lead paint, or hand your baby a cigarette after its born. Look at this as an opportunity to quit. Then save the money you would have spent on cigarettes and get something you want for the baby. I used to smoke so I know how hard it can be, but I also know how horrible it feels to think you may have done something that hurt your child if something does go wrong. No matter what the doctor may say you would never forgive yourself.

I know my mom never smoked while pregnant with any of us but she does now as do most of her friends & none of us have breathing problems from what i can tell & one of her friends is pregnat & due in december & she smokes a lot & is around a lot of second hand smoke i asked my mom about it & she just said its a bad idea which is what ive always heard i dont think i will ever smoke just because the smell annoys me more than anything but if i do i know i will try & quit if i get pregnant
