If you are being booked for a scheduled c-section, how far in advance do they book it? Do they book you a couple months in advance or do they monitor you and decide closer to the date?

why would you want a c section? isnt it nicer to know your baby came naturally?

It depends of the circumstances but usually your doctor will wait until closer to your due date, after he/she has monitered your progress more. Why?

They can give you a pretty good idea about when you might have the c-section but they wont plan it to you are close to your due date or whenever the baby is ready to be born.

I have had three c-sections now and am having another in about 6 weeks, the reason for this is that my first baby was a breech baby and the hospital i was in wasn't comfortable letting me do it natural,my next two where c-sections because the doctors told me some horrible things that could go wrong, i do miss the fact that there is no surprise but i love that i know that nothing can go wrong!they will normaly do the c-section in the 39th week (for legal resons)it is alot safer for the baby this way even though you probably whant it now!i hope that helps

PS:those people who think its a choice need to speek with someone that knows what they are talking about, no body i know would chose to have there stomach cut open ,four weeks of pain and a scarr over one day of pain that can be medicated and a bit of hard work! you are not aloud to chose the first time,the second time you are given a choice but it is safer for you and your baby!

I had c-seactions and the first one wasn't planned at all went in to deliver adn his heartrait started to drop so they took him the other one was planned and as I got closer to my due date with in like a month or three weeks he schuduled me in for a c-section. Best of LUck to you!
