I Would say circumcise, they circumcise all most all boys babies in canada...some countries women dont married to men if they are'nt,because they think he is not clean...myself i prefer when men are circumcise,my husband is not,but i am tying to talk him into it...i really dont like it...if i ever have a son as soon as he is born and its ok for the Dr to circumcise him right away,i will be very happy with that...the earlier its the better, they feel lest pain...i would go for it.....am sure your son will love that when he grow up...I have heard girls in canada says they dont date guys that are not circumcised....all the best with that.....

My doctor told us that it's really not necessary to have it done and it's mostly just a personal choice, but from what I've seen researching on the internet it seems like the chances of complications or other risks associated with getting it done are about even with the benefits. I know that most babies in America are circumcised, but it seems to be a dieing trend, and that most babies elsewhere aren't unless there are medical or religious reasons. This is a hard decision. Thanks to everyone on here for your input and your help. It makes it a little easier to decide.

How hard is it to take care of a little boy right after he's circumcised? Is it difficult or painful for him to have his diaper changed? I've read that they use a local anesthetic when they do it and most boys don't feel a thing while it's going on, but how is it for him afterward when you get him home?

It's not very difficult at all to take care of. As long as you keep the vaseline on his penis and the diaper, it won't be painful at all because it keeps the diaper from sticking to it. And yes they do use a local anesthetic. I had the ability to see my son get his circumcission, considering his doctor did it at the doctor's office instead of at the hospital (he was too small at the hospital to have it done so we had to wait till he was about 3 weeks old). They put him on a plastic stretcher thing to strap him in, which is what bothered him the most. He doesn't like being strapped down to this day (hates his car seat too). Then they stuck a needle into his testicles a few times in order to administer the local anesthetic to numb everything. Then after everything was numb, they started cutting and pulling the foreskin away. He screamed, but the doctor assured me that he couldn't feel it, I knew it was just because he didn't like being strapped down and all stretched out, plus the room was cold and he was naked. Afterwards he fell asleep almost immediately after getting him back into his clothes and his carseat, and there were no problems after getting him home. The plastic ring that they used fell off in about a week (it was to make sure that what was left of the foreskin didn't heal wrong on the penis, though now I hear they don't use that anymore). But it didn't bother him at all, he was a good baby when it came to changing his diapers.

I'm sorry, but that sound horrible, just horrible.
