As most of you might know i had my first little boy on Sept 5.
so this is why i need your help.

how long after you gave birth did you and your partner resume sex?

Not b4 6wks.

I waited about 4 weeks after I had my first one and about 3 weeks after our second. I also had to have stitches and wasn't comfortable with it before then. You can resume sex any time you're comfortable with it, but I would highly suggest that he wears a condom unless you want to get pregnant again soon. Your doctor won't usually start you back on birth control until at least 6 weeks after the baby is born.

yeah i know about the birth control, so condoms would be a priority haha.
in asking this question i was not implying i will be having sex anytime soon as i suffered a 3rd degree tear and do have stiches so sex is the last thing on my mind
i was just curious as to if there was a "time limit"

Most doctors recommend at least six weeks, which is normally your postpartum check up. Especially since you have a tear, you might want to wait longer. I tore inside and out, but not completely through. Even after I healed it still hurt for a while. It wasn't really comfortable, or enjoyable till about 10 weeks later, but just be sure to use some sort of birth control. Otherwise you be like me. I'm due with number two, 2 days before my sons first birthday. Made an appt. for mirena, and had to wait for it to come in,and ended up changing my appt to a 1st prenatal visit. Best of luck!
