my daughter is 5 1/2 months old. everything i read says that she should be sitting up on her own and crawling....well, she isn't. i've acted cool around my husband because he's freaking out about it. i know babies learn at their own pace but she doesn't even show any interest in sitting up. when i help her sit up, she stiffens up her back to lay down again. what's her deal?

ok my son who now is 13 months old didnt sit up on his own until almost 7 months and didnt crawl until 8 months. sometimes they never crawl its not a necesary milestone. the book i read "what to expect the first year" says that babys dont crawl until between 7 to 10 months old

I think my daughter sat up at 5 or 6 mo. and she didn't crawl until 11mo; walked at 15mo.

My first child, a boy didn't sit up until 9 months old, and he walked at 13 months.
My last child a girl sat up at 4 months and crawled and pulled herself up around the furniture at 5 months old and didn't walk until she turned a year. All kids are different. Don't worry, she will sit up when she is suppose to.

my olest sat up around 6 months.. and didnt start crawling until almost 10 months.. then walked at 13 months..
all babies go at different paces. she just isnt ready to do it all by her self yet. The time will come..

Aww hun dont worry yourself about it.. All babies are different and will only do it when they feel ready.

My daughter sat up around 5-6mths, crawled around 11mths & walked at 14 1/2mths. I too used to worry all the time and used to think she might never crawl ect, but they do it when they are ready.
Just enjoy them while you can because as soon as they start crawling/walking you will have your hands full

P.S My daughter started walking 2wks ago, nightmare!
