They have had no problems. Have you borrowed a pump? Have any of you had problems or sicknesses from it? All I did was but new tubing, bottles, valves, breast shields, and valve covers. I had a hard time picturing how a pump works... and to my surprise it never goes through the tubes. I think it's completely safe as long as you replace those parts. I got them online, and then entire package was only about $20.00.
