By Anonymous 3 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Some people buy designer clothes for toys. Like some $34 dresses were bought for this one little girl's doll but the girl's clothes came from a thrift store for 25 cents.
Thrift stores, family/friend hand-me-downs, and yard sales seem to be the best clothes for rapidly growing children. Especially babies since they only wear the clothes for a month or two before they need the next size up. And since the clothes are only worn for a short time, then they still look new/in good shape. Plus young children are messy by nature anyways so there's no reason to buy extremely expensive clothes, because they're just going to get stained. Expensive clothes are made with different fabrics that are harder to get stains out of or need to be dry cleaned. 2 or 3 expensive sets of clothes are ok for special occasions though. Like for a holiday (christmas/kwanza), a special event (a wedding/birthday party), or special day (1st day ever of school/welcome home party). For a child, I like any clothes that are reasonable priced and in a good condition. Gerber, old navy, faded glory, and playskool are brands that are nicely priced at thrift stores and some times the clothes still have all the tags on them.

Re:would you buy designer baby clothes? By DONE GOODBYE genevra 3 Months, 2 Weeks Ago Yes, I will be buying my granddaughter designer clothes. Probably only 2 - 5 outfits every month, just to add to her wardrobe. I already bought her 20 outfits in size 3 - 6 months - she is due to arrive Sept. 14.
Also, like others mentioned, garage sales are a great avenue to find treasures, if you're picky, and choose carefully, you can find some really good deals. Genevra

Re:would you buy designer baby clothes? By happy2bme 3 Months Ago We just got back from Panama City Beach, and we went to an outlet shopping center in Destin, and they had a Carter's store with a 50% off sale, and I went crazy in there picking out clothes for our 2 year old son! I found a lot of really cute clothes for him to wear this fall. There was also an Osh Kosh store and we found a few things in there for him that was on sale for him to wear this fall. Then while we were there all week, a new Carter's store opened in Panama City on Wednesday, so we got to go there, too, and it was 50% off there, too. So my husband and I had a lot of fun picking out his clothes. Carter's is my favorite baby clothing store.
